国内外の実験的でエキサイティングな音楽を発信するイベントシリーズ「耳の糧〜Food for Ears」は2024年11月3日の開催をもち、早くも第７回目を迎えます。
この度、同イベントのレジデンスDJである、iwamaki/Menouをゲストキュレーターに迎え、ベルリン・リスボンを拠点とするAmbient Sleepersと協力し、落合Soupでライブイベントを開催します。

Ambient Sleepersの主宰者で、クラブミュージックの担い手の多様化を念頭に置きつつ、クィア・アーティストの支援を続け、ベルリンTresorなどの重要クラブや世界中の様々な都市のフロアを沸かせてきたHypnotic Black Magic(HBM)が、この日のために用意した特別なアンビエントセットを披露します。

また、同じくベルリンをベースにするO/Yは、ミニマルテクノ、ダブ、エレクトロニカ、アンビエント、スローテクノなどの多様な音楽スタイルを包摂しながら、エクスペリメンタルなテクノで知られるトラックメーカーです。この日は別日のWombでのテクノセットの前に、アンビエントを主軸としたライブセットを披露します。

一方、weiiiは台湾出身のハイブリッドなモジュラーシステムで表現を行うアーティストです。彼女は「パッチング」という概念を拡張し、アンビエント〜エクスペリメンタルを横断するような長尺でディープなトラック制作を続けています。

来日中の上記のアーティストに対して、日本国内からはKoeosaeme、Menouがジョインします。
KoeosaemeはOrange Milkからの諸作で広く知られたネオコンテンポラリーミュージックのコンポーザーです。スピード感、鋭利な質感の作風で知られるKoeosaemeですが、Crash Symbolsからリリースした新作『Mauve』では、現代的なニューエイジ風味のアプローチを披露し、アーティストとしての新たな一面を鮮明に印象付けました。今回のイベントでは、この作品の延長線上にあるアンビエントセットが披露される予定です。

最後にMenouですが、ドローンミュージックに深く傾斜し、ヘヴィーな音響空間を即興的に作り上げるアーティストです。Menouのセットはこの日の多様な出演アーティストの表現を架橋するような内容になる予定です。

アンビエントと一言で表現しても、そこには簡単に包摂できない多様で芳醇な世界があることを、このイベントを通して体感してください！

hypnotic black magic

Hypnotic Black Magic is a Berlin and Lisbon-based techno artist, renowned for her deep and trippy sets that take audiences on euphoric journeys.
She is also the head behind the well-established label, podcast, and event series Art Bei Ton, shaping her vision of the scene through hypnotic sounds, psychedelic visuals and gender-balanced line ups.

Inspired by nostalgic and avant-garde electronic sounds since her early teenage years, HBM has developed her music taste around deep/hypnotic techno, atmospheric ambient, and ritualistic drums. Collecting tracks with a preference for loopy patterns, dreamy pads, groovy basslines, and trancy rhythms, HBM’s goal is to drive the audience through a cathartic journey - dancing through obscure thoughts, meditative states, and sensual expressions.

After immersing herself in the free party subculture and moving to Berlin at 18, HBM's passion for freedom and DIY ethos drove her to build a supportive community for FLINTA* and queer artists. In 2018, she launched Art Bei Ton and Ambient Sleepers, holding space for diverse and marginalized international artists to express their creativity, and challenge the established discriminatory systems.

Her work has brought her to enchant dancefloors at iconic venues worldwide, including Tresor (Berlin), VENT (Tokyo), Gare (Porto), Ministerium (Lisbon), Vurt. (Seoul), Ciało (Wroclaw), Monument Festival in Norway. Continuously traveling, her mesmerizing sets have resonated in major cities such as New York, Medellin, Tbilisi, Paris, Amsterdam, Goa, Barcelona, Bangkok, Brussels, Montreal, Istanbul, and beyond.

On the production side, Hypnotic Black Magic is finalizing tracks for upcoming releases on various VA compilations by the end of the year. She is also preparing her highly anticipated debut EP scheduled for 2025. Stay tuned for more updates—exciting news on the horizon!

weiii’s creative journey began with painting and gradually ventured into the realms of
sound and modular synthesizers, using her art as a means of philosophical
exploration. She focuses on hybrid modular synthesizer systems, incorporating field
recordings to reveal the generative process of sound, elements she integrates into
her improvisational performances in Tokyo and Kyoto. weiii’s work is deeply rooted in
the concept of “patching,” whether it be the interaction between people and their
environment or the interplay between digital and biological systems. Her art explores
how sound and thought converse within improvisation.

O/Y

O/Y is a contemporary approach to the synthesis of minimal, dub,
electronica, ambient and downtempo. synonymous for impulsive
grooves ensnared by deep pads and lighthearted melodies, O/Y is
always shifting playfully between micro- and macrocosm. artists
such as polar, skudge, moritz von oswald and jay dilla don't
often find themselves mentioned in the same breath; as a musical
alignment, however, they paint an accurate picture of the rich
sound spectrum of this virtuoso.after four years of touring the
world, O/Y started his own label ‘doubt records’ in 2022,
organising releases, events and radio-shows under that very
name.

koeosaeme

Koeosaemeはネオコンテンポラリーミュージックの作曲家、プロデューサー、サウンドデザイナー。CM音楽制作スタジオでのアシスタント経験を経て、2004年からYMOの高橋幸宏氏が率いるサウンドクリエイターチーム「OFFICE INTENZIO」のメンバーとして活動を開始。坂本龍一や高橋幸宏のツアー、ライブサポート、レコーディングにも参加。
2014年より、Koeosaeme名義で独自の音楽活動を本格化。近年では、アメリカのレーベルOrange Milk RecordsやCrash Symbolsなどから作品をリリースするほか、映画やギャラリーインスタレーションのための制作をしている。

Menou

<Menou/iwamaki>

東京都出身。
2015年より東京拠点に趣味にてiwamaki名義でDJ活動を開始。
何層かのdroneの和音にexperimentalやnoiseを重ねたアプローチ。
2016年ドローン大学卒業。
2017年にはdommune出演。その後も神楽音、VENT tokyo、soupなどでDJを行う。
2019年よりMenou名義にてLIVE活動を始動。
2023年バルセロナMostra festival、マドリードPerpendicular festivalにてliveを行う。
Estrato Auroraとの共同トラックがFrequencia Introspectivaよりリリース。
7月にはOrbitandoよりソロトラックリリースなど、トラック制作にも注力している。
Droneベースに音の繊細な変化や展開を感じるアプローチを意識してDJやLIVEを行う。
